Earl,
I'm sorry to read about Vera Jo's passing. Vera and I had the same homeroom class at Whittier Elementary in Tulsa, back in 1948-49. I remember also that she was the only one in our 6th grade class that was a bit shorter than I, so we got along really well!! We also used to go to the movies together at the Circle Theater on most Saturday's that 6th grade year. She was a pretty girl with a good personality. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.

Vera Jo was a treasured friend growing up. My parents were missionaries in China and when the Communists took over the country we returned to the U.S. and lived in Coweta. Vera Jo made "the new girl" who didn't know about living in America--feel at home and welcome and was a very important part of my life. She had such an outgoing personality and was universally liked. Her friendship has remained a special part of my memories. When our class had a reunion several years ago--Vera Jo was right there, her usual fun self. She was a blessing! I so appreciate the gift of her friendship. May the Lord's blessings and peace be with her family.

Vera Jo was my oldest first cousin. She was always the cutest and bubbly one of the bunch. She was one of the short ones in the family, along with her Mom, Velma and her grandmother, Granny Moore. It is sad for this family to lose another member. I know her daughters Vickie and Vonda and son Gregg will miss their Mom as I miss mine. My love and prayers to the family and friends of Vera Jo.
