Obituary of Bruce Withers

Bruce W. Withers, age 51, of Coweta, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday morning, April 16, 2008 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife. Bruce was born on December 21, 1956 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Harry W. and Velda (Snelson) Withers. He received his education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School in 1975. Bruce and Sherry Teague were united in marriage on November 7, 1987 in Coweta, Oklahoma. Bruce was a self-employed painter with Withers Painting for 29 years. His hobbies included raising cattle, farm work, stained glass, leather work, ceramic painting and he enjoyed old trucks and cars. Bruce will be missed by all that knew him. Survivors include his wife, Sherry, of the home; his parents, Harry and Velda Withers of Coweta, Oklahoma; one brother, Dwight Wade Withers of Coweta, Oklahoma; his grandfather, Russell Snelson of Coweta, Oklahoma; and three nephews, Joshua Withers, Jeffrey Withers, and Jeremy Withers. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Roger McDougal of New Home Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery.
