Obituary of Sibyl Renfroe

Sibyl M. Renfroe, age 92, of Coweta passed from this life on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home. Sibyl was born on January 9, 1915 in Paris, Texas to Roy and Jessie (Hamby) Laney. She received her education in the Tahlequah, Oklahoma school system. Sibyl and Blaine Renfroe were united in marriage on September 20, 1930 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Sibyl worked as a seamstress for Renberg's Department Store in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 25 years until her retirement in 1971. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening, and painting. Survivors include one daughter, Gracie Newkirk, of Jenks, Oklahoma; one sister, Dahlia Fischer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Diane Wilson and Denette Hughes, both of Coweta, Oklahoma, Michael Newkirk, Cynthia Whitesell, Darren Newkirk, and Angela Newkirk; 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Lillian Adams, three brothers, and three sisters. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Tibey of Grace Hospice officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow.
