Obituary of Army PFC Cody Carver

Army PFC Cody Montana Carver, age 19, of Coweta, OK passed from this life on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in Iraq. Cody was born on June 23, 1988 in Tulsa, OK to Darrel and Pam (Orsburn) Carver. He received his education in the Coweta Public school system. Cody enlisted in the United States Army on November 20, 2006 and finished his basic training on June 7, 2007. After basic training, he returned to Oklahoma and served as a hometown recruiter before he was deployed to Iraq on September 28, 2007. He served with the 1st and 15th Infantry Regiment and the 3rd Battalion Combat Team, 3rd ID Mechanized. Cody was a Private E3 in the United States Army. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Coweta, OK and the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK. His hobbies included racing cars, riding motorcycles, skate boarding, and hanging out with his friends. Cody is survived by his parents, Darrel and Pam Carver of Haskell, OK; two brothers, Lee Carver and his fiancé, Tonya Wheat, of Haskell, OK and Jake Carver of Haskell, OK; maternal grandparents, Charles Orsburn and Barbara Phillippe of Wagoner, OK; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Edna Carver of Coweta, OK; uncles and aunts, Chuck and Marti Orsburn of Haskell, OK, Valerie and Mike Trout of Wagoner, OK; Chris Orsburn of Wagoner, OK, Marlene and Ronny Carver of Haskell, OK, Sharon and Wayne Steeley of Coweta, OK, Darren and Sherry Carver of Coweta, OK; cousins, Dillon, Justin, Jon, Krystal, and Brittney; and nephews, Austin and Justin Carver. Cody was preceded in death by his nanny, Edna Orsburn. Funeral services with full military honors were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Coweta High School Gymnasium with Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.
