Obituary of Clem Rife

Clem C. Rife, age 73, of Coweta passed this life on Friday evening, October 12, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Clem was born on March 26, 1934 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to John and Ruth (Hollis) Rife. He received his education in the Tulsa Public School System. On December 9, 1955 he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on September 12, 1957. Clem and Sylvia Lowder were united in marriage on June 29, 1958 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. In 1968, he and Sylvia moved to the Coweta area from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Clem worked as an inspector in the Engineering Department for the City of Tulsa for 40 years until his retirement. His hobbies included woodworking, especially with the scroll saw. Clem is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the home; one son, Kent Leigh Rife of San Diego, CA; one daughter, Lisa Leigh Bauman of Columbia, South Carolina; and one granddaughter, Hannah Bauman. Clem was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta with Reverend John Barela officiating.
