Obituary of Roy Wynn

Roy J. Wynn of Coweta passed away on Friday, June 1, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Broken Arrow. He was 60 years old. Roy was born on December 15, 1946 in Harlan, Kentucky to Flonnie and Helen (Teague) Wynn. He received his education in the Greenville, Ohio school system and graduated from Greenville High School. He then attended Edison State College in Piqua, Ohio and received his associates degree. He enlisted in the United States Army on September 29, 1965 and was honorably discharged on July 6, 1967. He was a Specialist Four Helicopter Gunner and received the Air Medal twice for his service. He and Linda York were united in marriage on March 30, 1968 in Greenville, Ohio. They came to the Coweta area from Tulsa in 2005. Roy worked as a machinist at Braden Cargo Gearmatic for ten years until his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Church of God in Greenville, Ohio. He received his clergy ship on September 19, 2001 and spent time helping his brother with revivals and spreading the good word. His hobbies included coin collecting and doing projects. He loved being with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; three daughters, Lisa Stafford and her husband, Steve of Coweta, Mellissa Sullivan of Tulsa, and Amy Gomez and her husband, Kris of Coweta; one son, Michael Sullivan of the home; one brother, Rev. Arnold Wynn of Greenville, Ohio; three sisters, Betty Butts and her husband, Dave, of Greenville, Ohio, Polly Fleming and her husband, Ray of Sydney, Ohio, and Christine Brock and her husband, Junior, of London, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Cody Stafford, Michael, Brandon, and Alyssa Sullivan, and Elizabeth and Kristina Gomez; ex son-in-law, Joe Sullivan, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Rogers officiating.
