Obituary of Steven Poplin

Steven H. Poplin of Coweta passed away on Tuesday morning, February 13, 2007 at Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa. He was 54 years, 6 months, and 7 days old. Steven was born on August 6, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Dennis H. and Mina Ruth (Battles) Poplin. He received his education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School in 1970. Steven joined the United States Air Force on June 3, 1971 and was honorably discharged on June 2, 1975. He and Denise Kunze were married on July 1, 1977 in Broken Arrow. Steven worked at Kunze Farms as a farm worker and truck driver for 29 years. He was currently employed at Sanders Nursery in Broken Arrow. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working. Survivors include his wife, Denise of the home; one son, Jeremie Poplin and his girlfriend, Crystal, of Broken Arrow; his mother, Ruth Poplin of Coweta; one sister, Jennifer Gilbert and her husband, Bobby, of Coweta; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Van and Barbara Kunze of Coweta; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Mary Kunze of Coweta; one sister-in-law, Diane Kunze of Coweta; grandmother-in-law, Nora Cotner; and nieces and nephews, Tanya Thompson, Cally Bond, Sarah Hall, Crystal Kunze, Connor Kunze, and Hannah Kunze. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Keith Poplin. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Reverend David Jones officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.
