Obituary of Naomi Rutherford

Naomi Rutherford, age 92, of Tulsa, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her home in Tulsa, OK surrounded by her family. Naomi was born on July 19, 1924 to Samuel Lorn and Lula Belle (McKnight) Fidler in Booneville, AR. She married O.W. "Buck" Rutherford on June 25, 1938 in Wagoner, OK. They owned and operated Rutherford Nursery for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping and traveling. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, O.W. "Buck" Rutherford, her parents, Samuel Lorn and Lula Belle Fidler, 1 son, Joe Rutherford, 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Naomi is survived by 2 sons, Alvie Rutherford and wife, Kay of Catoosa, OK and Paul Rutherford and wife, Linda of Tulsa, OK; 1 sister, Lois Britt of Tulsa, OK; 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be from 10 AM - 7 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the funeral home. Services celebrating Naomi's life will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. Pallbearers are Jr. Rutherford, Eli Rutherford, Eric Rutherford and David Rutherford. Honorary Pallbearers are Bridgette Cox and Gale Barbee.
