Obituary of Janna K. Saunders

Janna K. Saunders, age 66, resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, OK. Janna was born on April 3, 1950 to Tommie Joe and Joyce (Morrow) Yates in Henryetta, OK. She and Kenneth Saunders were married on May 27, 1972 in Henryetta, OK. They moved to the Coweta area from Tahlequah, OK in 1975. Janna was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was a member of the Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed attending church and spending time with her grandchildren. Janna was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Saunders, her father, Tommie Joe Yates, her brother, Tommy Yates and a stillborn granddaughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Saunders. Janna is survived by her mother, Joyce Yates of Henryetta, OK; 1 son, Kris Saunders and wife, Tammy of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 daughter, Kara Castillo and husband, Richard of Beltsville, MD; 2 brothers, Steve Yates and wife, Mary of Tulsa, OK and Dennis Yates and wife, Angie of Lindsay, OK; 5 grandchildren, Kelsey Saunders, Adam Saunders, Kenneth Saunders, Makayla Castillo and Maya Castillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing for Janna will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Janna's life will be at 11 AM on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Dennis Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Matthew Yates, Eric Yates, Kevin Tillotson, Kenneth Tillotson, David Tillotson and Ciro Castillo.
