Obituary of Janna Lynn Sparks

Janna Lynn "Jan" Sparks, age 56, resident of Coweta passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Jan was born on June 9, 1960 to Melvin Carol and Linda Lee (Hager) Turley in Okmulgee, OK. She was a 1978 graduate of Morris High School and then attended OSU-Okmulgee where she received her LPN degree. Jan loved caring for people and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 38 years and was currently working at The Gardens in Sapulpa, OK. She and Kevin Wayne Sparks were married on June 24, 2000 in Broken Arrow, OK. She enjoyed camping, riding on the Harley, antiquing and spending time and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. Jan was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Turley, her 1st husband, Gregory Jones and 1 grandson, Coby Jones. Jan is survived by her husband, Kevin Sparks of the home in Coweta, OK; her mother, Linda Turley of Morris, OK; 2 daughters, Amber Plautz and husband, Don of Oil City, PA and Angel Jones and Chris of Sand Springs, OK; 1 son, Dustin Jones and Jennifer of Coweta, OK; 1 brother, Tim Turley and wife, Carla of Morris, OK; 2 sisters, Carmela Warren and husband, Mike of Morris, OK and Darla Maxwell and husband, Matt of Okmulgee, OK; many grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing for Jan will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 and Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Services celebrating Jan's life will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, OK with Pastor Larry Brown and Pastor Larry Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Daniel Jones, Dawson Barnes, Matt Maxwell, Chris Maffeo, Tommy Faulkner, Lonnie Leonard Swarer, III, Kendall Warren and Jimmy VanWinkle.
