Obituary of Rheta Ellen Redding

Rheta Ellen Redding, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 (just one day before her 83rd birthday) at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Rheta was born on December 22, 1933 to Homer and Helen (Armstrong) Koonce in Muskogee, OK. She was a 1952 graduate of Muskogee High School. Rheta and Samuel Redding were married on May 31, 1952 in Van Buren, AR and he preceded her in death in 2012. Rheta was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rolling Hills. She enjoyed dancing, reading, and walking. Rheta was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Redding, her parents, her son, Casey Redding, 3 brothers, Gerald Koonce, Kenneth Koonce, and Gale Koonce, and 1 sister, Lahoma Walker. Rheta is survived by 1 daughter, Christie Marshall and husband, Leonard of Tulsa, OK; 1 son, Bo Redding and wife, Sonja of Catoosa, OK; 5 grandchildren, Jackie Morgan, Monica McConnell, Mandy Ratcilff, Nikki James, and Dustin Redding; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Services celebrating Rheta life will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Story and Pastor Ernie Gill officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Pallbearers are Jackie Morgan, Dustin Redding, Josh Morgan, Tristan Morgan, Casey Quick and Kaden Redding. Honorary Pallbearers are Jamey Ratcliff, Dawson James and Odin McConnell. Family and friends may share memories online at www.brownfamilyfuneralhome.com.
