Obituary of Harold A. Day

Harold A. Day, age 84, resident of Coweta passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on March 8, 1932 to Gordon and Doris (Allen) Day in Portsmouth, NH. Harold was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1955 to 1961. He and Linda Casey were married on November 7, 1978 in Coweta, OK. Harold worked as a Maintenance Engineer, as a Deputy Sheriff of Reno County and as a Mechanic until he retired. He was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Coweta, OK. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, 1 step-son, Robert Lee Brown, 1 sister, 1 brother, 1 grandson, Allen Thompson, 1 great grandson, Cody Hawkins and 1 step-daughter, Terri Thompson. Harold is survived by his wife, Linda Day of the home in Coweta, OK; 1 son, Michael Day of Hutchinson, KS; 1 step-daughter, Valorie Yungeberg and husband, Terry; 1 sister, Betty Day of Portsmouth, NH; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 PM. Services celebrating Harold's life will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brody Morris officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Ernie Joice, Terry Yungeberg, Colton Hawkins, Payden Yungeberg, Jordan Yungeberg and Steven Werner.
