Obituary of Nita Sue Kern

Nita Sue Kern, age 57, resident of Coweta passed away on Sunday morning, December 4, 2016 at her home in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family. Sue was born on July 8, 1959 to JD and Juanita May (Estes) Martin in Oklahoma City, OK. She married Lee Miller Kern on March 25, 1981 in Oklahoma City, OK. Sue enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising chickens, collecting cat figurines and she loved her cats. She also enjoyed spending time with her sorority sisters and she loved her grandchildren dearly. Sue was preceded in death by her parents. Sue is survived by her husband, Lee Kern of the home in Coweta, OK; a son, Michael Kern and wife, Rachel of Broken Arrow, OK; a daughter, Megan Kirk and husband, Timothy of Broken Arrow, OK; a sister, Kay Martin of Dallas, TX; a brother, Michael Martin and wife, Chris of Purcellville, VA; 3 grandchildren, Blake Kern, Alexis Kern and Abigail Kirk; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Services celebrating Nita's life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with viewing the same day from 9:30 - 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Lee Kern, Michael Kern, Michael Martin, Blake Kern, Gene Estes and Dave Estes.
