Obituary of Vance Warren

Vance Warren, age 81, life-long Coweta resident passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. John Hospital in Broken Arrow, OK. He was born on August 28, 1935 to Sanford Lee and Annie (Reed) Warren in Coweta, OK. Vance was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956 and the Air Force from 1958 to 1959. Vance and Ida Mae Tennison were united in marriage on February 16, 1957 in Coweta, OK. He worked at American Airlines as a Mechanic for 20 years until he retired and served as President of the Transport Workers Union Local 514. He enjoyed fishing, reading, movies and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vance was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Vance is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ida Mae Warren of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 daughters, Sherry Thomas and husband, Philip of Broken Arrow, OK and Terry Adair-Withers and husband, Kirk of Coweta, OK; 1 son, Marlin Warren of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 sister, Joan Considine of Tulsa, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Lowrey, Amber Sheridan and husband, Shawn, Andria Goodnight and husband, Gary and Dalton Warren; 5 great grandchildren, Hailey Withers, William Withers, Colin Sheridan, Luke Sheridan and Roman Goodnight; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 12-6 PM on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Vance's life will be at 10 AM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. Ed Rutherford officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are George Tennison, Jr., Kirk Withers, Gary Goodnight, William Withers, Shawn Sheridan, Keith Burrows, Colin Sheridan and Luke Sheridan.
