Obituary of Jean Stirlen

Jean Stirlen, age 93, lifelong Porter resident was born on July 21, 1923 to Eugene and Addie (Boyd) Moses in Clarksville, OK. Jean went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, October 1, 2016 in Oklahoma City, OK. Jean received her education in the Porter schools. She married William "Bill" Stirlen on February 20, 1946 in Columbus, KS. Jean worked as a supervisor at Funsten Nut Company for 24 years and then worked at Fort Howard Paper Company until she retired. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Porter. She enjoyed going to garage sales and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Stirlen in 2001, her parents, Eugene and Addie Moses and her daughter, Beverly "Doc" Meeks. Jean is survived by 1 daughter, Pat Bailey and husband, Tom of Carney, OK; 1 son, Bill "Bub" Stirlen of Porter, OK; 15 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be from 12-8 PM on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Jean's life will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Porter, OK with Rev. Dennis Piearcy officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Pallbearers are Shane Floyd, Cody Floyd, Chance Stirlen, Eugene "Bub" Smith, Joseph Sutton and Mike Williams.
