Obituary of Barbara June Wortham

Barbara June Wortham, age 80, resident of Coweta was born on August 25, 1936 to Albert H. and Hazel Mary (Gaither) Lang in Inola, OK. Barbara went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, September 24, 2016 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Barbara was a 1954 graduate of Porter High School. She married Archie D. Wortham on October 14, 1954 in Porter, OK. She worked at Wal-Mart in Coweta for many years until she retired. She also was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family. Barbara was a member of the Coweta Assembly of God. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Billy Lang. Barbara is survived by her husband of 61 years, Archie Wortham of the home in Coweta, OK; 3 children, Kathy McCully and husband, Chuck of Coweta, OK, David Wortham and wife, Debbie of Coweta, OK, and Amy Wehrle and Chuck of Coweta, OK; 1 sister, Mary Lemley and husband, Gene of Porter, OK; 1 brother, Al "Jr." Lang and wife, Sandy of Porter, OK; 1 aunt, Cossie Lang Car of Heber Springs, AR; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie, Steve, Nathan, Cierra, Chelsea, Kaylee, Alec, Jessica, Tara, Derek and Emily; 12 great grandchildren, Baileigh, Chandler, Easton, Trey, Gracie, Hope, Max, Kennedy, Allison, Sammie, Boston and Caleb; 1 great-great grandson, Lawson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 PM. Services celebrating Barbara's life will be at 2 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Porter, OK. Pallbearers are Mark Keefover, Gary Lang, Larry Lang, Scott Lang, Dennis Lang, Tyler Lang, Bryan Wheeler and Kenny Ingram.
