Obituary of William Dalton Day

William Dalton Day, age 92, longtime resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Parks Edge Nursing Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on December 21, 1923 to William Harrison and Willie Lee (Smith) Day in Muskogee, OK. Dalton married Loretta Dorene Lantz on December 27, 1947 in Coweta, OK. He worked at Service Lumber Company as Yard Foreman and at International Paper Company until he retired. Dalton enjoyed gardening, watching sports and the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved spending time with this grandchildren and family. Dalton was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Dorene Day in 2010, his parents, William Harrison and Willie Lee Day, 1 daughter, Sandra McMillan, 1 grandson, Cody McMillan, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Dalton is survived by 2 sons, Lantz Day and wife, Jane of Broken Arrow, OK and Rick Day of Tulsa, OK; 1 daughter, Sharon Garrigus and husband, Gary of Broken Arrow, OK; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside services for Dalton will be at 10 AM on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK with Rev. Glenn Lewis officiating. Pallbearers are Lantz Day, Tony Nagy, Gage Nagy, Cade Nagy, Lantz Day II and Travis Hinesley. Honorary Pallbearers are Rick Day and Garrett Hinesley.
