Obituary of Edna Lucile Pyle-Spurlock

Edna Lucile Pyle-Spurlock was born September 4, 1925, to James Marion and Jimmie Evelina Spurlock. She had two sisters, Maxine and Myra, and one brother, Charles Zachary, all of whom preceded her in death. In 1946, Lucile married J.C. Pyle, who preceded her in death in 1983. They had two daughters together, Gayle and Traci. She remarried her second husband, Jack, who also preceded her in death in 2014. Lucile passed on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK at the age of 91. She is survived by both daughters, sons-in-law Ronny Foster and Mike Kirk, grandchildren Tod Foster (Sandy), Chad Foster (Amy), Jodie Keel (Calvin), and Sarah Kirk, and by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Lucile had several careers, throughout her life, the first of which was as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse. She worked in banking, in a loan office, as a decorator, as a director of senior citizen outreach programs, and in her retirement, as a hostess at Henson’s restaurant here in Coweta. Through all of her jobs, she made a lot of friends, some she had grown up with here in Coweta, many new ones from far and wide. But the job she took the most pride in was being a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Viewing for Lucile will be from 12-6 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the funeral home with the family present from 4-6 PM. Services celebrating Lucile's life will be at 11 AM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Lucile to the Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133.
