Obituary of Lee Roy Denton

Lee Roy Denton, age 96, Coweta resident was born on April 25, 1920 in Coweta, OK to J.C. and Flora (Hendrix) Denton. Lee Roy passed away on Wednesday morning, August 24, 2016 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK. He and Lucille (Vincent) Denton were married on February 6, 1946 in Coweta, OK and she preceded him in death. He then married Faye (Hensley) Allen-Denton on March 7, 1997 in Coweta, OK and she preceded him in death. Lee Roy was a Manager of Coweta and also served as County Commissioner. He owned and operated a grocery store in 1995 and an antique store in the 1960's. Lee Roy enjoyed fishing, quail hunting in the early years and later in life he enjoyed chasing rabbits with his beagles. Lee Roy was preceded in death by his 2 wives, his parents, 3 sisters, Evelyn, Irene and Emmalea and 3 brothers, Ray, J.C. and Jack. Lee Roy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 12-6 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Lee Roy's life will be at 10 AM on Monday, August 29, 2016 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Greg Meadows.
