Obituary of Richard D. Rector

Richard D. Rector, age 78, lifelong resident of Coweta passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 13, 2016 Haskell Care Center in Haskell, Okla. with his family at his bedside. Richard was born on January 21, 1938 in Coweta, Okla. to Ted and Lena (Boone) Rector. In 1959, Richard and Wanda Mae Baker were united in marriage. He worked for the City of Coweta as cemetery sexton for many years until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the lake, mowing and working on his cars. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Mae Rector in 2015, his parents, Ted and Lena Rector and 1 sister, Dorothy Walker. Richard is survived by 3 children, Doug Rector and wife, Tracy of Coweta, Okla., Sarah Rector of Stillwater, Okla. and Rex Rector of Tahlequah, Okla.; 4 brothers, Daniel Rector and wife, Betty of Coweta, Okla., Donald Rector of Coweta, Okla., Paul Rector and wife, Shirley of Porter, Okla. and David Rector and wife, Donna of Coweta, Okla.; 1 sister, Cathy Parent of Minn.; 1 granddaughter, Journey; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Richard's life will be at 11 AM on Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta, Okla. with Pastor D. Frank Hughes officiating.
