Obituary of Karen Louise Shieldnight

Karen Louise Shieldnight, age 74, of Coweta, Okla. was born on January 7, 1942 to Clarence and Laura Jane (Bell) Johnson in Winfield, Kan. Karen departed this life Saturday evening, April 9, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. Karen graduated from Arkansas High School in Arkansas, Kan. She worked as a Secretary at St. Francis Hospital for 30 years until she retired in 2009. Karen married Kent Shieldnight in 2001 in Eureka Springs, Ark. She enjoyed traveling, fishing but most importantly she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Laura Jane Johnson, 1 son, A.J. Sellers, 1 brother, Kenneth Johnson and 1 granddaughter, Misty Timmons. Karen is lovingly survived by her husband, Kent Shieldnight of the home in Coweta, Okla.; 1 daughter, Saundra Timmons and husband, Brett of Tulsa, Okla.; 1 brother, Eldon Johnson and wife, Marilynn of Kans.; 1 sister-in-law, Helen Johnson of Kans.; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 4 nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Viewing for Karen will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, April 11, 2016 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Karen's life will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Our Finest Hour Church in Broken Arrow, Okla. with Pastor Dan Zirkle officiating.
