Obituary of Debbie Kaye Stephenson

Deborah Kaye "Debbie" Stephenson, age 63, of Broken Arrow, Okla. was born in Macon, Mo. to Bonnie Lucille (Latimer) Copenhaver and Alvin Ellis Copenhaver on March 26, 1952. She married Richard Lee Stephenson on May 12, 1973. Together they raised two wonderful sons, David Ray and Tony Ellis. Debbie went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 8:20 AM at her home in Broken Arrow, Okla. Debbie enjoyed doing yard working, gardening, being outdoors and she loved popsicles. She was a secretary at State Farm Insurance for 27 years until she retired in 2014. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Okla. Survivors include 2 sons, David Stephenson & wife, Jan of Porter, Okla. and Tony Stephenson & wife, Dana of Porter, Okla.; 4 grandchildren, Kirstein Stephenson, Megan O'rourke, Haylee Stephenson and Cole Stephenson; 1 sister, Bonnie Jo Schmadeke and husband, Jim of Shelbyville, Mo.; and many cousins and friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Stephenson, her parents, Alvin Ellis Copenhaver and Bonnie Lucille (Latimer) Copenhaver, 1 niece, Rachel Schmadeke, and 1 nephew, Jimmie Lynn Stephenson II. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, January 11, 2016 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services celebrating Debbie's life will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Sunnyside Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Okla. with Brother Ron Curtis officiating. Graveside service are scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence, Mo. with Brother Ron Curtis officiating. Pallbearers are TJ Powell, Jim Vanderveen, Jimmie Stephenson, Kurt Garriss, Curtis Secrest, and Ernie Cothern.
