Obituary of Donald Gene Cole
Donald Gene Cole, age 88, longtime resident of Wagoner, OK passed away on Saturday evening, September 5, 2015 at his home in Wagoner. Don was born on January 12, 1927 in Wagoner to Frank and Emmaline (Bristol) Cole. Don was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He retired from American Airlines in 1982 after working for 30 years. He worked as an aircraft mechanic. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Don was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Violet Gerardo. He is survived by 1 sister, Gail White Schoonover and husband, John; 1 niece, Shannon McCoy and her husband, Damon; 1 nephew, David Sorensen and his wife, Pamela; and a special friend, Brenda Robertson.
Graveside services celebrating Donald's life will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 1 PM at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK with Chaplain Forest Kirk officiating.
