Obituary of Bob J. Hampton

Bob J. Hampton, age 83, of Porter passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 14, 2015 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born on June 24, 1932 in Coweta, OK to Roy and Clara Hampton. Bob married Hellen Irene Points on May 18, 1952 in Coweta, OK and together they had 3 children, Kathy, Judy and Eric, 3 grandchildren, Dale, Angela and James Andrew and 2 great grandchildren, Grace and Gregory. Bob and Hellen lived in Coweta from 1964 to 1985 when they moved to Porter to live where they built their new home. Bob worked as a Machinist at Rockwell International in Tulsa for 30 years until he retired in 1989. He was a member of the Porter First Baptist Church, the Coweta Masonic Lodge #251 and Modern Woodmen of America. Bob loved to fish, garden and also make knives as a hobby. He also raised cattle for several years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hellen of 62 years, his parents, Roy and Clara Hampton, his son, Eric Hampton, a grandson, James Andrew Hampton, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Bob leaves behind 2 daughters, Kathy Hampton and Judy McClendon and husband, Gary; 1 grandson, Dale McClendon; 1 granddaughter, Angela McClendon; 1 great granddaughter, Grace McClendon; 1 great grandson, Gregory McClendon, all of Porter, OK; 1 sister, Elsie Ward of Sapulpa, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 6 PM - 8 PM on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral services celebrating Bob's life will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Porter, OK with Rev. Dennis Piearcy officiating. Burial will follow in Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, OK. Pallbearers areDale McClendon, Dwayne Points, Roy Points, Dwight Jones, Barry Schauffler and Scott Schauffler.
