Obituary of Oren John Brewer

Oren John Brewer, age 86, resident of Coweta passed away on Wednesday morning, August 12, 2015 at his home in Coweta, OK with his family at his bedside. Oren was born on June 8, 1929 in Hodgens, OK to Jerry and Lester (Naylor) Brewer. He was a graduate of Heavener High School in Heavener, OK. Oren was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He enlisted in the Army on March 3, 1951 and was honorably discharged on February 20, 1953. He and Dorothy Joan Huntington were married on September 8, 1953 in Van Buren, AR. Oren worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, Rockwell International and Telex until he retired. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time on the farm, fishing and driving his tractor. Oren was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Oren was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Brewer in 2010, his parents, Jerry and Lester Brewer, 1 brother, Jack Brewer and 1 sister, Maryann Greenwood. Oren is lovingly survived by 3 daughters, Patricia Kirby and husband, Dennis, of Coweta, OK, Mona Gentry and husband, Mike, of Porter, OK and Lorie Peters and husband, Roy, of Porter, OK; 1 sister, Betty Hamer of Tulsa, OK; 2 brothers, Jerry Brewer of Broken Arrow, OK and Bill Brewer of Bartlesville, OK; 6 grandchildren, Dawn Robinson, Nathan Peters, Jessi Gentry, Sara Gentry, Cody Peters and Callie Peters; 7 great grandchildren, Spencer, Jacob, Chloe, Makiah, Marek, Jaycie and Owen; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral services celebrating Oren's life will be at 10 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will be at 2 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener, OK. Pallbearers are Mike Gentry, Roy Peters, Cody Peters, Dennis Kirby, Erick Robinson and Spencer Robinson.
