Obituary of Alpha Mae Cooper

Alpha Mae Cooper, age 74, resident of Coweta passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at her home. Alpha was born on April 26, 1941 to Virgil and Thelma (Brock) Morgan. She and Wayne Cooper were married on June 16, 1977. Alpha worked at Telex as a Repair Technician for many years. She had also worked at Carriage Crossing Senior Retirement Center as a Caregiver and at Coweta Manor Nursing Home. Alpha enjoyed gardening and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Thelma Morgan, her son, Craig Poplin, 3 brothers, Clifford Morgan, Arvil Morgan and Carmel Morgan and 2 sisters, Wilma Drain and Doris Morgan. Alpha is lovingly survived by her husband of 38 years, Wayne Cooper of Coweta, OK; 1 son, Kirk Poplin and wife (Teresa) of Coweta, OK; 1 daughter, Sherrill McPherson and husband (Steve) of Pryor, OK; 3 sisters, Helen Thompson and husband (Ralph) of Ft. Gibson, OK, Wanda Manasco of Coweta, OK and Sue Morgan of Coweta, OK; 1 sister-in-law, Maudie Morgan of Coweta, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Lane and husband (Nolan), Justin Poplin and wife (Jennifer), Shelby Joiner and husband (Cody) and Scott McPherson and wife (Sharon); 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, August 7, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral services celebrating Alpha's life will be at 1 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Calvin Easley, Dean Cooper and Rev. David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Johnny Snelson, Arvil Morgan, Bill Cooper, Terry Cooper, Dale Trout and Bryan Rainbolt.
