Obituary of Chris Denton

Joseph "Chris" Denton, age 47, of Coweta passed away on Thursday morning, June 26, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Chris was born on March 22, 1968 to Jimmy R. and Viola B. (Smith) Denton in Tulsa, OK. He was a 1986 graduate of Coweta High School. Chris attended Northeastern State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree. He worked at Crossland Construction Company as a Truck Foreman and Truck Driver. Chris was a member of the Church of Christ in Coweta. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rodeos, working on his son's jeep and spending time with his family. Chris is survived by 3 children, Christina Denton and (Jason Moreland) of Porter, OK, Joseph Brent Denton of Coweta, OK and Sierra Denton of Catoosa, OK; his parents, Jimmy and Dolly Denton of Coweta, OK; 2 sisters, Jill Denton-Foster of Colorado Springs, CO and Joy Denton-Pickett and husband (Brian) of Coweta, OK; 1 grandson, Coltan Moreland; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM – 8 PM on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family being present from 5 PM – 8 PM. Services celebrating the life of Chris will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rex Shrum officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Joseph Denton, Frankie Jessie, Daryle Haywood, Randy Bedford, Jason Moreland and John Downing. Honorary Pallbearers are Dave "Popeye" Bennett, Chris Oliver and Cameron Factor.
