Obituary of Sue Jo Johnson-Benson
Sue Jo Johnson-Benson, age 78, resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2015 in Collinsville, OK. She was born on March 28, 1937 to Todd and Thelma (Allison) McGlaughlin in Andrews, TX. Sue married Earl D. Johnson on December 24, 1951 and they were married 50 years until he preceded her in death on May 29, 2002. She then married Douglas Wayne Benson on August 21, 2004 and they were married 8 years until he preceded her in death on January 25, 2013. Sue and Earl owned and operated Johnson Pipe & Supply for 29 years. She then went to work at the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children as a Regional Development Coordinator for many years until she retired. Sue was a devoted and faithful member of Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, shopping and church work. Sue was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl D. Johnson, her second husband, Douglas Wayne Benson, her grandson, Shawn Johnson and 2 brothers, Lewis and Jack. Sue is survived by 1 daughter, Linnie Johnson-Beu and husband, Danny, of Delaware, OK; 1 son, Mike Johnson of Checotah, OK; 4 grandchildren, Teddy Johnson, Lindy Beu, Shelly Beu and A.J. Beu; 8 great grandchildren, Kaylee Johnson, Lottie Johnson, Aubrey Poplin, Laynie Taylor, Dylan Hagebusch and wife, Mariah, Sierra Poindexter, Saber Mosley and Kutter Cheatham; 2 great-great grandchildren, Kadeyn Hagebusch and Bella Hagebusch; 1 aunt, Florene Davis of Odessa, TX; 3 step-daughters, Karen, Linda and Merri; 1 sister-in-law, Beverly Henley; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services celebrating Sue's life will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Clearview Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Larry McDonald officiating. Viewing will be from 9 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the funeral home with the family being present from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Bob McKnight, Larry Odum, Dale Ring, Larry Sheppard, Lynn Bertling and Tandy James. Honorary Pallbearers are Teddy Johnson, A.J. Beu, Dillon Hagebusch and Kutter Cheatham.
