Obituary of Arthur Burney

Arthur Lee Burney, age 53, of Coweta passed away on Friday, February 18, 2011 at his residence in Coweta, OK. He was born on May 29, 1957 in Henryetta, OK to Dude and Sue (Bozarth) Burney. Arthur received his education in Morris, OK. He and Patricia Meeks were married on February 18, 1995 in Las Vegas, NV. Arthur currently worked as a mechanic at American Transfer & Storage Company in Tulsa, OK for 10 years. He enjoyed riding horses and playing softball. He will be greatly missed by his all those who knew him. Arthur is survived by his wife of 16 years, Patricia of the home; his three daughters, Michelle Burney of the home, Samantha Edwards and her husband, Brian, of Hoffman, OK and Karen Jefferson and her husband, Landon, of Dewar, OK; his parents, Dude and Sue Burney of Hoffman, OK; his three brothers, James Burney of Hoffman, OK, Bill Burney and his wife, Kathy, of Hoffman, OK and Larry Burney and his companion, Carolyn Hubert, of Henryetta, OK; four grandchildren, Whitney Jefferson, Ashley Jefferson, Brianna Edwards and Kayan Edwards; one great grandchild on the way, Maddix Lucero; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Arthur was preceded in death by two grandsons, Timothy Adam Jefferson and Kelby Cannon Edwards. Funeral services for Arthur will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Hoffman First Baptist Church in Hoffman, OK with Rev. Duke Britt officiating. Burial will follow at Hoffman Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, February 22, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Family and friends may send condolences to the family online at www.wrightfh.net.
