Obituary of Fred Hearod
Fred C. Hearod, age 75, of Coweta departed this life on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at his home. He was born on January 19, 1935 in Canadian, Oklahoma to Fred Hobart and Lula (Anderson) Hearod. Fred was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He received his education in the Canadian, Oklahoma school system and graduated from high School in 1955. He and C. Ruth Sullivan were united in marriage on July 9, 1974 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma. Fred worked as a barber in McAlester, Oklahoma for fifteen years. He also worked at Zep Manufacturing for twelve years until his retirement in October 1989. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Fred is lovingly survived by his wife, Ruth of the home; one son, Michael Woodard and his wife, Sheree, of Spokane, Washington; three daughters, Regina Kay Hadley and her husband, Kevin, of Lakeworth, Florida, Terri Lynn O’Hara and her husband, Roy, of Haskell, Oklahoma, and Janice Gayle Parrott and her husband, Richard, of Kiowa, Oklahoma; one brother, Bobby Hearod and his wife, Georgia, of McAlester, Oklahoma; one sister, Oleta Burton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Arty Joe Hearod officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Haskell, Oklahoma. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bob Bowman, Buck Thetford, Hollis Weeks, Randell Cook, Erdie Beard, Larry Renshaw, and Bear Gilliam.
