Obituary of Plumie Tennison

Plumie Tennison, age 90, of Coweta passed from this life on Friday, June 26, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, OK surrounded by her loving family members. She was born on November 18, 1918 in Mulberry, Arkansas to Ben and Caney (Moore) Taylor. Plumie was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She attended school in Arkansas through the 8th grade. Plumie and George Tennison were united in marriage on March 25, 1935 in Okmulgee, OK and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1995. In 1945, she and George moved to the Coweta area from Boynton, OK. Plumie was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy. Her hobbies included fishing, quilting and gardening. Plumie will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Plumie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, five sisters and two great-grandchildren. Plumie is lovingly survived by three sons, George Tennison, Jr. and his wife, Martha, of Littleton, CO, Jerry Tennison and his wife, Gail, of Coweta, OK and Norman Tennison and his wife, Debbie, of Coweta, OK; two daughters, Bonnie Johnson of Westville, OK and Ida Warren and her husband, Vance, of Coweta, OK; one sister, Ludie Hobbs of Coweta, OK; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 36 great-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Coweta Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Randy Wisdom officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta.
