Obituary of Dahlia Fischer

Dahlia B. Fischer, age 86, of Broken Arrow passed from this life on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2009 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, OK. She was born on November 3, 1922 in Blossom, TX to Roy Lee and Jessie Ann (Hamby) Laney. Dahlia attended school in Tahlequah, OK. She and William “Bill” Fischer were united in marriage on September 4, 1943 in San Antonio, TX and he later preceded her in death. Dahlia was a housewife for most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Dahlia enjoyed sewing and decorating. Dahlia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, four sisters, three brothers, and one granddaughter. Dahlia is lovingly survived by her daughter, Linda Summers and her husband, Don, of Broken Arrow; nine grandchildren; special nephew, Earl Cleon Laney and his wife, Jan, of Broken Arrow; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at New Home Cemetery in Peggs, OK.
