Obituary of Karla Phillips

Karla J. Phillips, longtime resident of Coweta, departed this life on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at her home at the age of 52 years. She was born on November 30, 1956 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Samuel and Jo (Collins) Bowers. Karla was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother to her family. She attended school in Coweta. Karla and Carl Phillips were united in marriage on October 11, 1974 in Coweta. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Her hobbies included gardening, working puzzles, and she loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles with her friends. Karla was preceded in death by her parents. Karla is lovingly survived by her husband of 34 years, Carl of the home; her sons, Keith E. Phillips and his wife, Lora, of Coweta and Bruce W. Phillips of Porter; her daughter, Elizabeth J. Phillips of Coweta; her sister, Sonja K. Sanders and her husband, Scott, of Coweta; two grandchildren, Samantha J. Phillips and Brittany L. Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Karla will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow.
