Obituary of Nina Thomas

Nina Marie Thomas, longtime resident of Coweta, departed this life on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years. She was born on October 5, 1939 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to John and Velda (Reynolds) Baucom. Nina was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother to her family. She attended school in Wagoner County. Nina and Jesse C. Thomas were united in marriage on October 31, 1956 in Coweta, Oklahoma. She worked as a machine operator at Hilti Incorporated for 12 years until her retirement in 2001. Nina had lived in the Coweta area for most of her life. Her hobbies included fishing, gambling, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Nina was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grandson. Nina is lovingly survived by her husband of 52 years, Jesse of the home; her sons, Randy Thomas and his wife, Alice, of Muskogee and David Thomas of Coweta; her daughter, Christina Thomas of Coweta; her brother, Harlen Baucom and his wife, JoAnn, of Porter; her sisters, Joyce Copeland of Coweta, Judith King of String, Oklahoma, and Donna Meeks of Coweta; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Nina will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Thomas Community Church in Broken Arrow with Rev. Len Reimer officiating.
