Obituary of Evelyn M. Brown

Evelyn M. Brown, age 89, resident of Coweta, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, January 15, 2014 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Evelyn was born on November 28, 1924 in Coweta, OK and was the daughter of James Phillip and Essie Mae (Stevens) Butler. She and Leo Brown were married and he preceded her in death on July 19, 1985. Evelyn worked as a Nurse's Aide at St. Francis Hospital for 32 years until she retired. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, working in her yard and garden and she loved taking care of people. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and 2 sisters. Evelyn is survived by her son, Paul Brown & wife, Carmen, of Porter, OK; 1 sister, Wanda Moore of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 brother, Udell Butler of Sapulpa, OK; 2 grandsons, Jeff Brown and Josh Brown; 2 great grandchildren, Grace Brown and Micah Brown; 1 step-grandson, Kevin Phipps; and other relatives. Funeral services for Evelyn are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, January 20, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Pastor Aaron Swensen officiating.
