Obituary of Daril Wayne Thompson
Daril Wayne Thompson, age 67, of Broken Arrow, OK passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, December 16, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 22, 1946 in Peggs, OK and was the son of Howard and Marie (Brooksher) Thompson. Daril was a graduate of Hulbert High School. He then attended Tulsa University, Northeastern State University and San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Daril also received a Degree in Law. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He and Patti Taylor were married on March 1, 1968 in Bristow, OK. Daril has owned and operated Thom's Service Center since February 1983. Daril served as Elder, Trustee and Chairman of the Board at Towne & Country Christian Church for 25 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills in Broken Arrow. Daril enjoyed tree farming, computers, doing yard work, genealogy and traveling. Daril is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patti Thompson of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; his son, Greg Thompson & wife, Kyla of Wagoner, OK; his daughter, Jennifer Wagner & husband, Marc, of Broken Arrow, OK; four brothers, Les Thompson of Owasso, OK, Bobby Thompson of Liberty, MO, Ronnie Thompson of Hulbert, OK and Terry Thompson of Castlegar, British Columbia; one sister, Judy Balenti of Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Maleah Wagner, Zakary Wagner, Olivea Wagner and Emmy Wagner; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Daril was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Doris David. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, December 18, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills, 21349 E. 111th Street, Broken Arrow, OK 74014. Dale Graham will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Zakary Wagner, Chris Thompson, Tim Thompson, Ronnie Thomas, Destiny Loya and Shawn Thompson. Kyler Schaberg will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
