Obituary of Wallace Whitmire
Wallace “Bob” Whitmire of Broken Arrow, age 80, a loving husband and brother, passed away Wednesday morning, October 10, 2012 at his home in Broken Arrow, OK. Bob was born on March 4, 1932 in Stone Bluff, OK and was the son of Ollis and Opal (Vaughn) Whitmire. Bob enlisted in the United States Army on September 25, 1952 and was honorably discharged on September 1, 1954. Bob and Gerry Dill were united in marriage on August 5, 1956 in Broken Arrow, OK. He worked as a Design Draftsman for many years until he retired in 1999. Bob was a member of the Pilgrim-Rock Masonic Lodge #522 in Tulsa. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, woodworking but most of all he loved spending time with his wife. Bob is lovingly survived by his wife of 56 years, Gerry Whitmire of the home; one brother, Jim Whitmire of Wagoner; and one sister, Laverne. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Wanda and Sally. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2012 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK with Chaplain Randy Shaddox officiating.
