Obituary of Herman Yandell
Herman Lee Yandell, age 80, long-time resident of Haskell passed away Thursday morning, March 29, 2012 at his residence in Haskell, OK. Herman was born on September 26, 1931 in Haskell, OK and was the son of James William and Georgia (Hammonds) Yandell. After attending school, Herman enlisted in the United States Navy on June 27, 1952 and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1956. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War as a deep sea diver in the Navy. Herman worked as a welder at Tulsa Sheet Metal for over 15 years until he retired around 2002. On December 22, 2001, Herman married Wanda Lee Randolph in Council Hill, OK. Herman enjoyed restoring old cars, playing guitars, singing in church, and he was an avid reader. Herman is lovingly survived by his wife, Wanda Yandell of the home; one son, Tyrel Yandell of Bixby; two step-sons, Joel McMillan and Travis McMillan, both of Haskell; three step-daughters, Lori Martinez and husband, Doug, of Centerton, AR, Megan Jarvis and husband, Ben, of Tulsa, and Stacy Adame and husband, Lorenzo, of Glenpool; six grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Herman was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Herman are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Chaplain Shannon Morgan officiating. Interment with full military honors is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, OK. Pallbearers are Ed Holt, B.J. Yandell, Jason Weir, Ernest Ray Weir, Ernie Joyce, Leon Williams, and Ernest Randolph. Family and friends may sign the guest book on-line @ www.wrightbrownfunerals.com.
