Obituary of William Capehart
William Edward “Red” Capehart, age 87, of Coweta departed this life on Sunday afternoon, July 18, 2010 at his daughter’s residence in Porter, OK, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 23, 1923 in Muskogee, OK to Grover and Mary (Malone) Capehart. Red was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather to his family. He attended school in Muskogee, OK. Red and Ima Jean Morrow were married on March 21, 1946 in Muskogee, OK and she preceded him in death on March 30, 2000. He owned and operated Morrow Hardware in Chouteau, OK for 13 years. Red was also a purchasing agent for P & H Supply and Prestolite until he retired in 1987. He enlisted in the United States Army on January 11, 1940 and was honorably discharged on September 25, 1945. Red was a member at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Tulsa, the First Baptist Church in Coweta, and previously attended the First Christian Church in Coweta. He enjoyed doing handyman work, especially for the ladies at Carriage Crossing. Red will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Red is lovingly survived by his three daughters, Deborah Jean Keller and her husband, John, of Ft. Gibson, OK, Rebecca Ann Martin and her husband, Jeff, of Coweta, OK, and Mary Lee Childress and her husband, Mark, of Porter, OK; his brother, Dr. R. J. Capehart and his wife, Diane, of Tulsa, OK; his sister, Mary Jane Devine of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren, Sherry D. Keller, Dr. Erik & Fang Martin, Kimberly & Dr. Lawrence Lee, Cory Martin, Scott & Janece Martin, and Jake Dollarhide; six great grandchildren, Lacee E. Keller, Kaitlyn R. Keller, Catherine Martin, Isabella Mae Martin, Keaton Dollarhide, and Baylor Dollarhide; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Red was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one grandson, Kenny Keller. Funeral services for will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta with Father Bill Christ and Rev. David Jones officiating.
